About Us
St. Lawrence Valley Roasters is located near the St. Lawrence river in northern New York. This area, like many northern states, is known as "the north country." We are "the north country's specialty coffee roasters." We live in a beautiful, predominantly rural area. Our winters are harsh but the summer more than makes up for it. St. Lawrence Valley Roasters
St. Lawrence Valley Roasters is the result of one man’s curiosity. It all began on a cold winter afternoon in late February after reading an article about home coffee roasting. The love of good coffee and the curiosity about how to roast the best possible coffee came together when the very first batch was roasted in a popcorn popper. For a while that was fine but as the coffee beans were shared with family and friends, the need to roast larger and better batches prompted the purchase of a small home roaster. The larger batches worked for a time but it wasn’t long before people wanted to buy roasted coffee by the pound. The more coffee roasted, the more the passion for roasting coffee and the desire to know more about roasting coffee grew. A week spent at Coffee Roasting School in Waterbury, Vermont provided more information about roasting Specialty Coffee, and the skills needed to roast it. Upon return, the ground work began to make roasting coffee beans into a business. With the help of the St. Lawrence County Office of Economic Development, St. Lawrence Valley Roasters was born. We are very proud of our Specialty coffees roasted to meet the unique needs of our customers. We provide freshly roasted regular and decaffeinated coffee, along with our own special blends. Our coffee beans are roasted in small batches to bring out the best possible flavor from each type of coffee. We are the home of “cosmic coffee, coffee with a taste that’s out of this world!”
